NETWORK SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

POSITION SUMMARY

The NA/SA is core to the Company’s Enterprise Technical Support Team. The ideal candidate will have a very high level of knowledge in Cisco Internetworking, Switching and Security, including experience in Windows 2008 Active Directory and Exchange 2007. The NA/SA will collaborate with personnel throughout the region in order to ensure optimized, stable and secure implementations of clients’ networks and domain and messaging environments.



    MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Collaborate, support & validate network and systems engineering efforts throughout the region.
  • Performing site surveys and working with the IT Support team to resolve networking issues.
  • Installing, configuring, maintaining, & documenting switches, routers, lightweight access points
  • Provides technical support for network & systems personnel
  • Develops & reviews policies, guidelines for all levels of network & systems administrators
  • Ensure adherence with best practices, such as compliance with upgrades, backups, and maintenance schedules, etc.
  • Acts as Tier IV support with the ability to quickly deploy and respond to major network or systems outages or events.
  • Expert level understanding of Cisco Internetworking Architecture and Implementation.

  • Expert level understanding of Cisco LAN Switching Implementation and troubleshooting
  • Expert level understanding of Internetwork Security.
  • Expert level understanding of vendor and non-proprietary implementations of TCP/IP.
  • Expert level understanding of Windows Active Directory Architecture and Implementation.
  • Expert level understanding of Microsoft Exchange Architecture and Implementation.
  • Expert level understanding of Microsoft Windows DNS.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of VPN architecture.
  • Practical understanding of Microsoft architecture and implementations.

  • Practical understanding of Telephony, VOIP and related technologies.
  • Experience with standard network change management and configuration policies.
  • Collaborative and team oriented approach.
  • Ability to work effectively under highly stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Analytical and logical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills on both technical and non-technical matters.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Management
  • Engineering or related discipline or the equivalent in experience.
  • At least 3-6 years of practical experience working with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of DHCP/DNS, subnetting, routing, switching, spanning tree, VTP, power over Ethernet, VoIP, trunking, VLANs, LAN/WAN technologies, and wireless technologies
  • Expert level understanding of Cisco Internetworking Architecture and Implementation
  • Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Understanding of basic security principles and their application to an Active Directory Environment.
